Christian Pern Becomes InnoGames CMO

Online game developer and publisher InnoGames adds Christian Pern to management as Chief Marketing Officer today, effectively making him responsible for the company’s future marketing and PR campaigns. He succeeds Volker Dressel, who left the position in June of this year. The 32 year old engineer studied information technology at the University of Hannover. Previously, Pern headed CRM at the online retailer Zalando, and was senior consultant at SHS VIVEON.

Pern is excited about his new task at InnoGames: ‘I look forward to joining such a dynamic company in the games industry. As with most online game providers, marketing makes a significant contribution to the development of the organization. Especially during this time of fierce competition from other publishers, it is important to develop clear targets and expand the marketing efforts. I certainly hope to enable InnoGames’ success with my experience.’

InnoGames CEO Hendrik Klindworth feels positive with the management decision to move forward with Pern, stating, ‘With over 100 million players now, CRM will play a crucial role in InnoGames’ future success.’ The goal, among other things, will be to focus on player retention and to develop intelligent cross-promotional opportunities for InnoGames games. Klindworth continues: ‘CRM will become increasingly important for us as advertising costs continue to rise. We are confident that Christian Pern is the right addition to our team.’

With over 110 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world’s leading developers and providers of online games. Currently, the Hamburg-based company employs 260 professionals from more than 20 nations. InnoGames has scored major success with games such as Tribal Wars, Grepolis and Forge of Empires.
