Autumn Games To Publish Famous Games Titles

Autumn Games announced today that it has entered into a multi-game publishing agreement with newly formed Famous Games. Founded by veteran video game industry executive Jack Sorensen, Famous Games is in development of an unannounced title. In his previous roles as the President of LucasArts and the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Studios for THQ, Sorensen is credited with overseeing the development of nearly 150 game titles.

"Jack is one of the truly visionary talents in the executive ranks of the games business," said Jason Donnell, President and Chief Operating Officer of Autumn Games. "Interactive entertainment is evolving quickly. Jack’s vision for the future of entertainment, combined with his exceptional track record in game development, makes him and his team an ideal partner for Autumn."

"Interactive gaming is at an exciting crossroads," said Jack Sorensen. "Despite some of the mournful press out there about our industry’s future, we are excited about the platform transitions and disruptions in traditional distribution happening in gaming. Autumn shares our vision for the type of experiences that will succeed in this new climate, and our partnership is an integral aspect of my new venture."

"When Jack approached us with the thinking behind his new company, we were immediately excited about collaborating to create games that leverage new technology and distribution forms," said Jeff Ulin, Executive Vice President for Autumn Games. "Jack has a truly impressive track record in developing and managing interactive entertainment, together with a unique grasp of where the video game business has been and where it’s going. We’re thrilled to have his talents and expertise on board."

Mr. Sorensen’s new company joins Los Angeles-based Isopod Labs and New York-based 4mm Games as the third studio entering into publishing partnerships with Autumn Games. Autumn worked with 4mm Games to publish the highly anticipated hip hop music game, Def Jam Rapstar, which launched earlier this month, and Isopod Labs on several forthcoming titles. All three studio relationships embody Autumn’s ongoing efforts to provide a new structure of support for top-flight developers to independently make and release games that challenge traditional boundaries.
