Assassin’s Creed III Incoming 31 October

Ubisoft has finally unveiled the new hero and setting for Assassin’s Creed III, which will hit stores on 31 October 2012. Dubbed as the most ambitious project for the series yet, gamers will be thrown into the late 18th century for a battle between the British Army and George Washington’s troops.

Our hero is Ratohnhaké:ton, otherwise known as Connor. He is half Native American and half English and the latest Assassin to take on the Templars. The trailer doesn’t give much away, but Connor does use a dagger and a tomahawk, with a bow and arrow slung over his back.

Gamers are promised a new game engine and judging by the trailer, Connor is the most nimble Assassin we’ve seen yet. The graphics on Revelations were looking a bit tired, so a new engine is good news on the pretty stakes.

Ubisoft Montreal heads up development, along with six other studios. In addition to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Ubisoft has also confirmed a version for Wii U.

According to Ubisoft, this is the "most expansive setting so far" and gamers will "be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III."
