Hey all, I’m back with the fourth volume of Light’s quest for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s “Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon Volume Four” by Meikyou Shisui.

Plot: The plot of this entry is mostly filled with flashbacks to the three years he spent in the Abyss training and building up his power. But there are some current timelines happening in the plot that go on revolving around the fact that they’ve located Light’s sister Yume who happens to be a maid in the human kingdom’s castle, but it’s mostly just flashbacks.

Characters: There are really only a couple of new characters in this volume. Mostly we are deepening our knowledge of the existing characters, namely Light and his allies, and how they came to be together. There are unfortunately not any particular standout characters in this volume.

Overall: A good fourth entry, but one that is mostly just a series of flashbacks on the three years Light lived and trained in the Abyss.
