Hey all, I’m back for this week’s Retro Game Friday with Redneck Rampage.

Plot: The plot is pretty ridiculous, as it revolves around a pair of redneck brothers trying to retrieve their prized pig, Bessie, while fighting against an alien invasion.

Gameplay: This game plays a lot like an original style Doom, complete with the not really 3D gameplay which given that this is pretty blatantly a Doom-clone isn’t surprising. The most memorable parts of Redneck Rampage were the cursing, which you could get for a single dollar with the Cuss Pack in one of the first ever DLCs, and the title’s use of items such as alcohol and food as health restoratives with a meter included to manage this since too much at once would cause defenselessness for a few minutes.

Art: The art is very dated and was so even back when this title was released back in 1997.

Music: The music was fun though with its psychobilly soundtrack.

Overall: Fairly skippable but might be worth a look if one is feeling nostalgic for old titles from Interplay Productions.

For those who like: First Person Shooters, Doom-clones, Rednecks, and Cursing.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
