I’m back with the seventh entry in Elaine’s journey for this week’s Bookish Wednesday. It’s “Return to Remus,” Book 07 of the Beneath the Dragoneye Moons series by Selkie Myth.
Plot: This picks up right at the end of the prior book with Elaine finally returned to her home nation of Remus after being lost behind enemy lines for over a year after the devastation of the attack on the dwarves.
But things aren’t the same, and Elaine has to reconcile the fact that things have changed in her home country drastically with the ending of the threat of the Fomorians. I could say more about this volume’s plot, but it’d ruin many, many surprises. So, I won’t be doing that.
Characters: We get to finally return back to Remus with familiar characters. There are some new faces, of course, but my favorite new character is Auri by far. I won’t say who she is, but she’s hilarious as a character, and her presence with Elaine makes the story much better. The rest of the characters, in particular Night, are still particularly strong.
Overall: A very strong seventh entry in this excellent LitRPG series.
