Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with a series that was one of my picks from the 2025 fall season. It’s my “A Wild Last Boss Appeared!” Episode 1 impressions.
Plot: This is a pretty interesting adaptation of a light novel. It follows Lufas Maphaahl, the in-game body of the former No. 1 player of the MMO Exgate Online, who was transported into Lufas’ body and summoned 200 years after her defeat in the world of Mizgarz. Honestly, it’s a fun concept.
Lufas was designed to be the ultimate bad guy, but she was really just another player character in an online game (who was obsessed with acting like an evil overlord stereotype). The character became so successful that the game made Lufas part of its history.
Characters: Lufas is the main character, and she is very interesting. We also meet Dina, an NPC advisor who was originally just a background character that Lufas really didn’t pay attention to. The rest of the cast we meet in this episode seem to be less important.
Art: The art is done by WAO World, a studio that has worked on many other series in the past. Honestly, it’s pretty well done but not spectacular or particularly noteworthy.
Music: The music of this episode fits the story perfectly. It was pretty good, but it’s not to the point of being incredibly memorable like Bleach’s first episode.
Overall: “A Wild Last Boss Appeared!” is a fun series and definitely worth watching.
