Hey all I’m back for this week’s Anime Sunday with one of my favorite series this year. It’s my Kuma Episode 01 Impressions!

Plot: The plot is pretty light hearted, as longtime readers will know since I’ve covered the original Web Novel that this is adapted from. This doesn’t start at the beginning of the story but starts about half the way into the first volume/arc, with Yuna going off to fight a giant snake terrorizing a village. Either way this episode was very fun to watch and I didn’t mind that it started part way through the first arc, though it does end the episode with a look back at the start of the story.

Characters: Yuna is our main character and she’s hilarious to watch, she’s utterly unrepentant towards others and doesn’t really seem to care that she’s stuck wearing a bear onesie in order to fight, granted that said onesie makes her ridiculously powerful, but it is not very fearsome looking.  We didn’t  get to meet the rest of the cast in this episode, but I’m looking forward to seeing them in later episodes.

Art: The art is pretty great, it’s not ufotable quality, but it is very good work and it’s done by a studio I hadn’t heard of before named EMT Squared. Though I had heard of other series they did I never watched them as they didn’t interest me at the time, or now to be honest.

Music: The music very much fits the story and animation, that’s all that really needs to be said.

Overall: A very fun series to watch, I highly recommend giving at least the first couple episodes a try.

For those who like: Isekai, Comedy, Action, Adventure, Overpowered Main Characters, Fun Plot, Great Cast of Characters, Excellent Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
