Hey all, I’m back with the ninth entry in a fantasy series about the adventures of Asterios for this week’s Bookish Wednesday. It’s “Rise of the Weakest Summoner Book Nine” by J. R. Saileri.
Plot: This ninth volume picks up after Asterios and his companions finish helping Althea recover, but things do not stay quiet for long. As the group prepares to head home and continue building up Glimmervale, there are still questions about whether Althea will keep her promise to return with them as Asterios’ teacher, along with new obligations tied to the Elf Queen.
That gives this entry a nice balance of homecoming, character development, and the sense that bigger responsibilities are still waiting just around the corner.
Characters: We get to see some new faces, but mostly it’s just old characters returning after a bit of an absence.
Overall: A great ninth volume in this amazing series.
