Hey all I’m back with a novel that I thoroughly despise for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s Kuro no Maou by Hishi Kage Dairi!

Plot: Let me just get this out of the way and say that I hate everything about this novel. From the plot to the utterly depressing tone, I hate it all. The plot is incredibly dark for what seems to be just the sake of being incredibly depressing. I’ve made my views clear on the subject clear before, I find no use for such stories and despise them with a passion because they are the antithesis to everything I enjoy about stories, so I won’t go over it again. Everything I’ve said about the subject before shows up in this novel series.

Characters: Kurono is our main character and I hate him, if only because he is so powerless in the face of ever darker tones in the story. I’ll again point to the above regarding my thoughts about the characters.

Overall: Steer far away from this series if you are like me and find no use for Dark Fantasy stories that are just dark for the sake of being dark.
