freezing

This week for Sensate Saturday I’m covering a series I can’t decide if I hate or not. It’s Freezing by Dall-Young Lim!

Plot Synopsis: In 2065, Earth is in the middle of a war with extra-dimensional aliens called Nova. The military develops and trains Pandoras, girls who are able to use special genetic tissue called Stigmata to manifest superhuman fighting skills and weapons. Supporting the Pandoras are male partners called Limiters, who use special “freezing” powers to limit their opponent’s mobility.

Plot: The plot is intense, and while I really don’t like how violent the series is, I do keep getting pulled back into reading it every few years. That being said, you are either going to hate this series or love it. I personally can’t even choose, half the time I hate it, and the other half I’m desperate to know how it all ends.

Characters: Kazuya is a decent male lead, but him being as dense as a brick is annoying as hell. Bridget and Rana are pretty nice though, especially Rana who I think makes a better female lead than Bridget does. The rest of the huge cast is quite good, but there are a few people who I want to just throttle.

Art: The art is pure Seinen, and it has the violence to go along with it. It fits this series very well.

Overall: I’d recommend this series if I didn’t hate it half the time. So it’s a maybe for now.

For those who like: Action, Drama, Romance, Tragedy, Excellent Cast of Characters, Decent Plot, Fantastic Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
