Manga Monday: Dogs by Shirow Miwa

This week for Manga Monday I’m covering a series I enjoyed. It’s Dogs: Stray dogs howling in the dark by Shirow Miwa!

Plot Synopsis: Dogs is set in a dystopic European city where violence, crime, genetic manipulation and other scientific brutalities have become common. The story focuses on four antihero protagonists who, through a series of coincidences, meet as they search for a way down to “the Below”, looking for answers to their individual pasts.

Plot: This is a short series leading up to a sequel series that’s still ongoing. That being said it’s necessary to read if you want to have any clue as to who the heck is who in the sequel. I enjoyed this prequel, although I’ve been meaning to continue reading the sequel past the first few chapters.

Characters: Naoto is probably my favorite character, because she’s a kick ass swordswoman who doesn’t take crap from anyone. The rest of the cast is great, but in this prequel series it’s a small cast.

Art: It’s gritty and detailed, which is perfect for this series.

Overall: This is worth reading if you like a good action series.

For those who like: Action, Biopunk, Drama, Short Series, Excellent Plot, Great Cast of Characters, Fantastic Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
