Rally Challenge 2000 Rocks N64

Everbody knows that the N64’s "quality" racing sims are spread pretty thin. On top of all that how many "Rally" titles have we seen in the last year or so? I mean let’s be honest they’re like a dime a dozen, each proclaiming to be different than the others. In truth the only variation between them are colorful case covers. I’ve played many rally titles across different systems, and in the end they all gave me that all too familiar "Where Have I Played This Game Before" feeling. But Woohoooo!!! Finally, somebody’s got it right! That’s right you heard me … Continue reading Rally Challenge 2000 Rocks N64

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine will compete w/Lara

The year 1999, and the start of 2000 for that matter, has been an interesting one for George Lucas. First of all, there was major criticism about his much-hyped Phantom Menace, especially in relation to the heavily-despised character Jar Jar Binks, and the ongoing controversy about no DVD release plans in the near future. The controversies continue to this day about who is going to play Anakin Skywalker in Episode II, with most of the rumors directed towards Leonardo DiCaprio (gag, barf, retch!), and there is also talk about a fourth Indiana Jones movie in the future. In the meantime … Continue reading Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine will compete w/Lara

Hot Wheels Turbo Racing zooms to your heart

The worst mistake a gamer could make is to dismiss this game as just for kids and take a pass on it. While the game holds all the standard fare for a racing game, the nostaglia involved in playing, not to mention the pure fun you have makes this offering from Stormfront Studios (published by EA) one of the best games in the racing genre. Let’s face facts — we all played with Hot Wheels cars growing up. We had the funny cars, the buggys, and of course the Scooby Doo lookin’ Mystery Machine van. One of the best parts … Continue reading Hot Wheels Turbo Racing zooms to your heart

WWF Attitude is a wrestling fans dream

WWF Attitude, simply put, lays the smackdown on all other roody-poo candy-ass wrestling games out on the market. The other pretender wrestling games, have no chance in hell in standing up to this game, and that’s the bottom line because Ken Urben said so and I’m one bad Mamma Jamma. If you understood all of the WWF wrestling references in the preceding paragraph, you’ll absolutely adore WWF Attitude. If you were left scratching your head in bewilderment, you’ll find yourself with an average game that you should think twice about buying. I’ll admit right off the bat something that my … Continue reading WWF Attitude is a wrestling fans dream

Let’s get back to the action as … Continue reading Bottom of the 9th ’99 is a swing and a miss

Superman is fun to play, but lacks needed details

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Superman! Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a steaming locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. I used to love hearing that saying when I was a kid. Superman was my hero. So it’s no doubt I was anxious to try my hand at Titus’s new Superman for the N64. But was Superman 64 all I hoped it would be? Well, the best I can say is that it’s ok. The storyline basically goes like this: Superman’s arch nemesis, Lex Luther along with the help of Brainiac, … Continue reading Superman is fun to play, but lacks needed details

Episode One Racer is a Force to be reckoned with

Speed. Competition. Thrills. A Jedi craves not these things. However, you might be of a different mind. For all of us Lucas Lunatics out there who just haven’t gotten our fill of The Phantom Menace, you can breath a little easier. LucasArts has your fix in the form of a very un-Jedi-like game called Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. If you haven’t seen the Phantom Menace yet, then turn off your computer and go buy yourself a movie ticket. Okay, now that they have left, it is only us true believers here. While I will leave a review of the … Continue reading Episode One Racer is a Force to be reckoned with
