Realistic Telemetry Data Added To NASCAR The Game

Prepare for an authentic racing experience like no other because Activision and Eutechnyx are proud to announce the implementation of telemetry data in NASCAR The Game: Inside Line. This complex tracking system measures data from actual NASCAR races and pinpoints the exact distance between two vehicles at any given time. The developers can use this information to recreate race scenarios exactly as they occurred in real life with each car precisely where it needs to be.

Take, for example, when Tony Stewart passed nine drivers within the last three laps to win at Homestead-Miami in 2011; players will now be able to replay that exact situation and revel in his triumphant victory. These Highlights also give players the chance to alter the outcome of specific events. For instance, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was on the verge of ending his winless drought at Charlotte last year until he ran out of gas during the final two laps. Rather than losing the race, players can go back in time to this moment and try to conserve enough fuel to finish in first and alter the course of history. The game will ship with 14 of these Highlights.

This new telemetry data will also support Inside Line Highlights, a series of in-game DLC packs planned for release next year that are set to cover the 2013 NASCAR season! Beginning at the Daytona 500 and going all the way to the epic finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, players will have the opportunity to relive the greatest moments of the 2013 season.

Here’s a look at some of the unique game features that each Inside Line Highlights will include: Moments to Relive ‘ Reenact some of the most thrilling moments of the season as these scenarios challenge the player to recreate the past achievements of a real driver.

Moments to Rewrite ‘ This allows NASCAR fans to change the course of history as they race to change the outcome of various events.

The Inside Line Highlights Pack will be available from the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PlayStation Network, and will include all Inside Line Highlights throughout the 2013 season. Individual Inside Line Highlights can also be purchased separately. The DLC will be released shortly after races occur during the 2013 season.

NASCAR The Game: Inside Line will be released November 6, 2012 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii.
