AOL Launches Family Game Guide

Continuing its commitment to providing family friendly online services, America Online's AOL Games web site has launched a new Family Gaming Guide (http://videogames.aol.com/gamingguides/family) designed to help parents make informed decisions when deciding which video games are appropriate for their children. In addition to recommendations and reviews from Common Sense Media, the leading resource for family friendly entertainment reviews, the Family Gaming Guide will also offer the latest news and research about the effect of video games on children's behavior and learning abilities.

Family friendly games will be handpicked by the editors of the AOL Games site with aggregated information as to rating and age appropriateness. Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll for the Nintendo DS is among the first featured titles to be deemed Family Friendly.

"Many parents today are concerned about the content found in video games today and the effect these games may have on their children," said Ralph Rivera, Vice President and General Manager, AOL Games. "AOL has long been an advocate for parents on the Web and we believe the Family Gaming Guide will be a valuable resource to help parents determine which games their children should be playing."
