This week for Book Series Wednesday I’m covering a classic. It’s Dune by Frank Herbert!

Plot Synopsis: Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV of House Corrino grants Duke Leto Atreides control of the lucrative spice-mining operations on Arrakis. Though Leto and his advisors suspect the boon to be some sort of trap, it is an opportunity forHouse Atreides to gain power and wealth, and politically Leto cannot refuse.

Plot: The plot is amazing, and it earned this book the first Nebula Award for Best Novel. I won’t go too far into the plot, but it’s easily one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Characters: Paul is a very good lead for the book and while Jessica isn’t quite as good as the female lead, she is still very good. My favorite character would be either Gurney or Stilgar however, I really can’t pick between them in this book.

Overall: If you’ve never read this book, you need to stop whatever you are currently doing and go find a copy and start reading. It’s that good.

For those who like: Amazing Cast of Characters, Exceptional Plot, Great Science Fiction.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, but how can you hate that.
