This week for Book Series Wednesday I’m straying off the usual path to cover a book I really enjoyed, probably the only non-fiction book I ever enjoyed from my time in College. It’s The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba!

Synopsis: William Kamkwamba was born in Malawi, a country where magic ruled and modern science was mystery. It was also a land withered by drought and hunger. But William had read about windmills, and he dreamed of building one that would bring to his small village a set of luxuries that only 2 percent of Malawians could enjoy: electricity and running water.

Story: The story of William is a great story of perseverance and hope. I really enjoyed this book despite the fact that it’s non-fiction. Although that may be because I’ve always had a strange fascination with the wind. Either way this book is a really nice heart lifting read.

Overall: If you ever wanted to have hope for the human race in general after a bad day, give this book a read. It really is worth it.

For those who like: Feel Good Stories, Non-Fiction, Great Stories.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
