This week for Anime Sunday I’m covering another series I was looking forward to watching. It’s my Netoge Episode 01 Impressions!

Plot Synopsis: Our naïve protagonist proposes to a female character in an online game, only to find out that the player is actually a guy. Traumatized by that, he decides to never trust a girl online.

Plot: As any gamer will tell you, most girls online aren’t really girls. That isn’t to say there aren’t women gamers out, I know and play with quite a few personally. However everybody has mistakenly thought someone was a gender they actually weren’t at one time or another if they’ve played games online. This all being said, I was really looking forward to this, and I got a typical Romantic Comedy series instead. I shouldn’t be too surprised, but I was really hoping it wouldn’t turn out that way.

Characters: Rusian and Ako are our leads, and watching them interact was incredibly hard. The rest of the online team wasn’t so bad, although once they had their real life meetup I was once again cringing every 30 seconds or so.

Art: The art at least is great, but I wish the plot was able to even match half of the quality of the art.

Music: What I just said above about art applies here too.

Overall: I’m definitely not watching the rest of this series, I don’t like Romantic Comedies all that much and the interesting premise isn’t enough reason to watch this and cringe every 30 seconds.

For those who like: Romantic Comedies, Romance, Interesting Premise, Great Artwork, Awesome Music.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
