Bio Inc. is a puzzle and real time strategy game centered around killing a person with many different illnesses. It’s germ warfare on a very personal level. It starts a little slow, but it builds and then hooks you in.

Bio Inc. starts you off with the basic tutorial in how to weaken your targets immune shield, aka immune system, which gives you more bio points to spend. Bio points light up a system if they’re present. Bio points are viruses and bacteria, which are basically currency for buying diseases, risk factors and recovery.

You have a variety of tools at your disposal in order to fell your victim.

Risk factors increase a certain body function’s destruction rate. These include but are not limited to smoking, sedentary lifestyle or heredity. Putting points into recovery slows down their path to becoming healthy or going to he doctor.

There are eight systems in the game, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, muscular, renal, skeletal and immune. The first system to attack is immune which gives you more bio points to further destroy the other systems. Putting points into immune weakens the nervous system first. Killing multiple systems at a time drastically increases the chance of death. Try to focus on all the systems instead of just one or look for symptoms that focus on more that one section.

If a system is below 75 percent the victim will go to a doctor. If the victim has nosocomephobia (a fear of hospitals) they will be less inclined to go to the doctor which further delays recovery. If an area is damaged you will see it darkening or bloody.

There are six levels in the game. The first three have unhealthy victims. The other three are healthy victims, which makes killing them harder. There is an area after you choose your victim where you name your victim and choose your difficulty. There are 3 options: mild, moderate and severe. Each option awards one to three stars.

The music matches the goals of this game very well with its eerie and unsettling tones. It’s creepy without being distracting. The sound effects are very smooth and notification sounds are very easy to hear.

This is my favorite game app that I’ve reviewed, which is why I’m giving it four GiN Gems. Bio Inc. provides countless hours of fun. Even though it has a slow start, it keeps making me come back to kill another unsuspecting victim.
