Gamescom: Microsoft Announces Fable Legends As Xbox One Exclusive

Microsoft and Lionhead Studios announced that a new game called Fable Legends will be an exclusive title for the Xbox One console. The news came at the Gamescom Microsoft press event in Cologne. Director David Eckelberry stressed that the game was not a sequel to the Fable series, but its own game and new IP, set 400 years before the original Fable game. Microsoft Reverses Xbox One Course To Allow Used Games, No Online Required

After a shellacking at the E3 Expo Trade show, and faced with disappointing pre-orders that put the Xbox One behind the PlayStation 4, Microsoft has decided to reverse its previous course with their pending console. The Xbox One will now allow used and rental games, will no longer require an online connection other than one time when the unit is setup, and will not have any regional restrictions. Microsoft will launch the next Xbox in early November, according to a report. Technogoly blogger Paul Thurrott, who previously revealed the next Xbox would be unveiled on May 21st before Microsoft’s confirmation, said that computing giant would release two models of the console, a standalone version for $499 and a $299 version that requires a two-year Xbox Live GOLD subscription. Microsoft has finally confirmed when the first public details about the Next Xbox will be revealed. The format holder has confirmed a May 21st event at 10am PST in the USA – that’s 6pm BST UK time. Patent Dispute Halts Xbox Sales In Germany

If you live in Germany, you won’t be able to purchase an Xbox 360 for at least a little while. Courts in that country have granted Motorola an injunction based on an ongoing patent dispute between them and Microsoft. Also banned are sales of Windows 7 and several other Microsoft programs. Motorola tried to get a similar ruling enforced in the United States, but was told that the case would have to be worked out further before anything like that could happen there.
