UK Games Industry Gets Tax Break

Today’s Budget confirmed tax breaks for the UK games industry, after years of pressure from industry figures.

Chancellor George Osborne announced the move in the 2012 Budget today, alongside similar plans for tax relief for the animation industry.

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of industry trade body, TIGA, said of the news, "This is a brilliant decision by the Government and terrific news for the UK video games industry.

"Tax relief for the video games sector will increase employment, innovation and investment in the UK video games industry."
