Softkinetic Picks Titan For Coin-Op

Softkinetic, the leading provider of 3D gesture recognition solutions for the interactive digital entertainment, consumer electronics and industrial markets, today announced that Titan 4 Games selected its iisu 3D gesture recognition software platform to develop next generation, gesture-based coin-operated systems.

Titan 4 Games, Tampa, Florida, designs, manufactures and markets gaming terminals for the coin-operated amusement market. The new and innovative products created by Titan incorporate Softkinetic's cutting edge technology and will create an industry leading experience.

"Titan 4 Games has always been at the forefront of innovation in the development of engaging coin-operated solutions," said Milind Bharvirkar, President and CEO, Titan 4 Games. "Softkinetic 3D gesture recognition technology allows us to bring to the market revolutionary products where players interact directly with the game, without the need of any controller or hand-held device."

Using a 3D depth sensing camera, Softkinetic's iisu middleware analyzes the player's movements, detects body parts and recognizes specific gestures. It also provides a complete 3D avatar animation environment so that the player controls the gameplay experience directly through his gestures.

"The interactive digital entertainment market is a perfect candidate for leveraging the capabilities offered by 3D depth sensing cameras to offer players of all ages new experiences through intuitive and immersive gameplay," said Michel Tombroff, CEO, Softkinetic. "We are very pleased to be associated with a market leader such as Titan 4 Games to bring this technology to the market."

Titant 4 Games is expected to launch new products based on the iisu technology in the first half of 2010.
