Operation Flashpoint E3 Trailer Shown

Think carefully, every choice is critical and death is never more than a tactical error away in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising as revealed in the E3 2009 gameplay trailer released today and now available from www.flashpointgame.com.

As a soldier in the US Marine Corps, fighting a fearsome enemy on the remote Pacific island of Skira, gamers face critical choices that will make the difference between life and death. Using every ounce of their skill and resources, players must overcome the deadly Chinese PLA advance force that is claiming sovereignty over the oil-rich island and defuse a military flashpoint between two global superpowers that threatens to engulf the world.

Set in a completely open-ended game world, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will put the fear back into the shooter by immersing players in a chillingly realistic conflict with an immense level of detail and authenticity. Players are given the freedom to handle unscripted missions on their own initiative, deploying the weaponry, vehicles and equipment of a state-of-the-art contemporary fighting force.

Whether it's assaulting, flanking or suppressing the enemy, or calling on fire support to rain down from the skies, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising demands players think on their feet, reacting quickly to any situation the game's advanced AI throws at them. No two engagements ever play out the same way and Skira's theatre of war is a tense, intimidating experience that brings gamers closer to war than they'll ever want to get.

"Tactics are everything in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising" said Sion Lenton, Executive Producer, Codemasters. "If players charge in Rambo-style, as in some first-person shooters, it will be game over, very quickly. We empower players to approach things differently and use every available tactic and resource to achieve their objectives."

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is set to deliver the most accessible, engaging and visceral sandbox shooter of the year when its published this fall for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and Games For Windows.
