Lowenstein To Give Final AIAS Speech

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) will host one of the last official speeches by outgoing Entertainment Software Association (ESA) President, Douglas Lowenstein, at the D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit 2007. The D.I.C.E. Summit will be held at the Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino in Las Vegas, Feb. 7 – 9, 2007.

Lowenstein, who announced his departure as founding president of the ESA last year, has been with the organization since 1994 when it was known as the Interactive Digital Software Association. The name of the organization was changed in 2003 to the Entertainment Software Association to more accurately and succinctly describe the industry ESA represents. The ESA is the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the Internet.

The second day of the D.I.C.E. Summit will kick off with Lowenstein's discussion of "The ESA: Past, Present, and Future." Lowenstein, who is also a board member of AIAS, will join a line up of high profile speakers, including Phil Harrison of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games. Those interested in hearing Lowenstein's take on the ESA's history and projected future can register to attend the D.I.C.E. Summit at www.dicesummit.org.
