Company Of Heroes Online Currency Deal Reached

GMG Entertainment, a leading publisher of digital currency cards for the digital gaming and online entertainment industries, announced today an exclusive agreement with leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI). Through the agreement, GMG will offer prepaid currency cards at retailers nationwide for THQ’s anticipated fall 2010 North American launch of Company of Heroes Online, a new free-to-play online version to the widely popular box-game series Company of Heroes.

The announcement was made today by GMG Entertainment Founder and CEO, Rob Goldberg.

"THQ’s games have such an immense following," said Goldberg. "By creating an online component with digital currency for Company of Heroes, GMG can lend our industry knowledge to help THQ bridge the traditional console and online gaming worlds."

Travis Plane, Vice President of Global Brand Management at THQ commented, "Company of Heroes was a critically acclaimed hit when it was first released and now a whole new generation of gamers can experience this great title risk free thanks to the free-to-play micro-transaction model. We are pleased to work with GMG to offer digital currency cards at retail, making it even easier for gamers to utilize our in-game store."

Company of Heroes Online will mark the first Company of Heroes free-to-play online product from THQ for the North American market, proving once again that the world of gaming continues to stretch beyond traditional formats and that GMG is at the forefront of that transition. The company was the first to provide a collection of online games on one DVD, launching the ON!DVD Online POWERPAK in late 2009 and earlier this year, the company announced their international expansion to the UK and Canada, furthering the model that providing access to online games doesn’t just benefit the consumer – it also grows revenue and builds brands for the digital and retail partners.
