HEROENGINE LICENSED FOR SPANISH LANGUAGE ED

  Posted: 3/9/2010

Simutronics today announced that enne entertainment studios has licensed HeroEngine for Habituales (current working title), a virtual world focused on Spanish language education. HeroEngine will provide enne entertainment studios with the collaborative tools to bring this immersive experience to life quickly.

Habituales will teach high school students, university students, and young professionals the Spanish language and culture through diverse missions in the virtual world. The University of Salamanca, one of the world's leading institutions for Spanish learning abroad, has partnered with enne on the project to develop completely new methods to ensure a realistic experience. The users will learn the only way you really learn a language: traveling, having fun, making friends, dancing, shopping, flirting... in a Spanish speaking immersive environment.

“3D virtual worlds provide new opportunities for education and entertainment," said Guillermo Velasco, Business & Marketing Director of enne entertainment studios. "Habituales will allow users to play with other Spanish speakers, students and teachers while learning in a fun and innovative way.”

"The strength of our HeroEngine will enable enne to reduce their development time by up to 50 percent," noted Neil Harris, President of Simutronics HeroEngine. "The time saved will allow the developers to focus their time on creating the most immersive virtual world rather than tedious development processes."

HeroEngine revolutionizes online world development by enabling development teams around the globe to collaborate in real-time. The engine has been licensed for a variety of projects including BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic, an unannounced project from ZeniMax Online Studios, a multi-title deal with a US publisher, virtual worlds with government and non-profit applications for a European organization, and unannounced projects from startups and major studios in China, Europe and the US. New details on these projects will be announced in the near future.

Simutronics HeroEngine and enne entertainment studios are both attending the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco from March 9-13th. Attendees can schedule HeroEngine demos and/ or meetings with enne entertainment studios to learn more about Habituales.
