This week for Shoujo Saturday I’m covering a series in a genre I tend to stay away from. It’s Haru no Houtai Shoujo, or The Bandaged Girl of Haru’s in English, by Satou Mito!

Plot Synopsis: Haru, a fun, lovable, easygoing guy, has a problem, he nearly burnt his girlfriend to death with his power. Meanwhile, another serial arsonist is on the loose, and there are rumours of strange incidents having occurred before!

Plot: Haru has it tough, and I really mean that as having fire come out of your hand uncontrollably is pretty horrifying. This isn’t even mentioning the fact that he burned his poor girlfriend near to death. This is a short, but quite good series.

Characters: Haru and Natsu are the two leads, and it really shows as the plot focuses mainly on them as it should. Fuyu is a pretty interesting character, but she’s also kind of a bitch to get along with. The rest of the cast is great, but since this is such a short series it’s a pretty small cast.

Art: The art is Shonen, but it fits this series perfectly. It’s great and I love how the art conveys the emotions of the characters perfectly.

Overall: This is a great and short series that everyone should read.

For those who like: Romance, Supernatural Stories, Drama, Mysteries, Great Cast of Characters, Excellent Plot, Fantastic Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
