This week for Shoujo Saturday I’m talking about a series that was adapted from a Visual Novel, it’s Amnesia.

Plot Synopsis: On one fateful day, August 1, the heroine lost all her memories. In order to gain them back and to ease her pain in remembering, she tries to interact with ‘him’ hoping to live each day as happily as she can, and to make a bright future with him…

Plot: The anime does a terrible job of adapting the visual novel’s plot, because it seems like the heroine doesn’t pick a route to follow in terms of plot at all. Not to mention that if you’ve forgotten everything and then you see a floating boy telling you not to go to the hospital you are insane. Having never played the Visual Novel, I was disappointed immensely in this adaptation’s plot.

Characters: The heroine doesn’t even get a name, and while she meets all the guys she could romance in the Visual Novel she never pursues any of them it seems.

Art: The only good thing about this series is it’s art, that said it can’t fix the blandness of the plot.

Music: I’m at a complete loss as I can’t stand to watch an episode of this series over again, and I honestly don’t remember the musical score or even the Opening song.

Overall: Don’t watch this, instead play the visual novel if you understand Japanese, otherwise move on with your life.

For those who like: Reverse Harems, Pretty artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Either of the above, or hate a terrible plot, and a main character who is indecisive.
