This week on Anime Sunday, I’m covering a new series from this season, Summer 2014. It’s Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun/Monthly Shoujo Nozaki!

Plot: Synopsis: High school student Chiyo Sakura is in love with her schoolmate Umetarō Nozaki, but when she confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. When she says that she always wants to be with him, he invites her to his house and has her help on some drawings. Chiyo discovers that Nozaki is actually a renowned shoujo manga artist under the pen name Sakiko Yumeno. She then agrees to be his assistant in order to get closer to him. As they work on his manga Let’s Fall in Love (恋しよっ Koi Shiyo, Let’s Have a Romance), they encounter other schoolmates who assist them or serve as inspirations for characters in the stories.

Plot: The plot is pretty good so far, although poor Sakura has yet to further her relationship with Nozaki, as he is pretty dense even for a guy.

Artwork: The artwork for this series is amazing, I especially love the art during the opening and ending sequences.

Music: The music is just as great as the artwork is.

Characters: I actually love pretty much everyone in this show, they are all interesting to watch. Case in point, I love the premise of Nisekoi but I couldn’t even finish watching the first episode. Mikorin is pretty cool, however I enjoy Yuzuki the most as she just does whatever she wants.

Overall: If you want a good laugh watch this, also it’s a great insight into the manga industry.

For those who like: Romance, Comedy, What goes into making Manga.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
