This week for Anime Sunday I’m covering another Anime from the Spring 2016 season. It’s my Bungo Stray Dogs Episode 01 Impressions!

Plot Synopsis: Nakajima Atsushi was driven from the Orphanage where he grew up, where he was called useless and that he should die in the nearest ditch constantly. Now Atsushi is half dead from starvation on a river bank when he decides to rob the next person to cross by until he sees something odd drift by in the river…

Plot: Yea this first episode starts a little weirdly, but it’s quickly endearing and the series grew on me by the end of the first episode.

Characters: Atsushi is a pretty typical lead character, but he’s really not the most interesting character. That particular title goes to Dazai Osamu who is pretty freaking hilarious, and a bit disturbing to me personally. The reason why he’s disturbing I won’t spoil, but if you’ve read my blog you’ll probably understand once you see what his main hobby is. The rest of the cast we meet in this episode, consisting mostly of Kunikida Doppo, is pretty great as well, he’s a great foil to Dazai’s antics.

Art: The art is great, and while it’s not ufotable quality, Studio Bones did a great job.

Music: The musical score is pretty good, but it’s not the best I’ve ever heard.

Overall: Definitely worth watching, if not a must watch.

For those who like: Urban Fantasy, Action, Drama, Mystery, Comedy, Studio Bones, Excellent Plot, Crazy and Amazing Cast of Characters, Fantastic Artwork, Great Music.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, but can you really hate all that?
