Twitching for Titanfall

Next week it will be here, and I’ll be ready for it. Yes that’s correct, Titanfall will finally be here for the Xbox One and PC. Sadly 360 owners will have to wait a little longer, but I promise them the wait will definitely be worth it.

Needless to say, Titanfall will be taking over all of my time when it comes out, and from what I’ve been hearing online and how the game is just getting better and better as it approaches its Tuesday launch date, I know it will spend a lot of my time installed on my One’s hard drive.

This is huge for the Xbox One, as it will be the biggest console exclusives available in its early lineup. This is the game that is supposed to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s cloud service (though I thought that Forza Motorsport 5 did that as well with its Drivatar feature.) Special Xbox One consoles are being released with Titanfall as a downloadable game, as well as a specially designed TItanfall controller.

But that’s not all that Xbox One fans are waiting for in regards to Titanfall. A new software update was released this week that helps to relieve many of the issues that we brought up. For starters, party chat is now available by default, as well as easier access to your friends list. Friends can also be listed by those who are on your favorites list, as well as those who are broadcasting. The latter I will get to in a bit.

Those who had third party headsets used on their Xbox 360s will now be available to use them via a headset adapter and a driver from the system update., and one feature that will definitely help me out with my 5.1 surround receiver, support has been added for 5.1 Dolby Digital via optical cable.

But the best addition to come out in this update is something I wanted to have from the console’s launch, but was delayed. As we all know, Twitch support was delayed due to take full advantage of the Xbox One, and now it will be available once the Twitch app updates next week, just in time for Titanfall.

I am looking forward to just getting on and saying “Xbox, Broadcast” and streaming my game playing footage on Twitch, and I’m even considering it as an official GiN themed stream. With the problems I am having with recording game reviews due to video glitches as a result of conversion and censorship due to copyright issues on YouTube, streaming via Twitch will be the best way for me to give my take on Titanfall, as well as other Xbox One games, as well as provide feedback from all of my viewers.

While I’ve been very happy with the Xbox One since making my purchase, I know the only way the console can go is up. This system update is a great sign, and putting it along Titanfall’s release is genius. As we get closer and closer to E3 I am looking forward to what will the console’s future will be.
