The 2023 BlerdCon Convention in Washington, D.C. over the weekend was an amazing event that celebrated diversity and black nerd culture in all forms. This year there was expanded fun for those who enjoy role-playing, video games, board games, anime, cosplay and lots more. And the show keeps getting bigger and better every year.
Thousands of people came together over the weekend for BLERDCON 2022, a fun and safe space designed to celebrate people’s diversity in color, culture, gender and sexual identities. And the convention just keeps getting bigger and better every year.
The BLERDCON 2022 convention was the largest yet for Washington DC. And beyond the fun, games and cosplay were plenty of interesting and serious panel discussions like the one about speculative fiction that our reporter attended.
Only in its second year, BlerdCon has all the makings of a major show along the lines of a Comic-Con. They have great panels, a full vendor section, and lots of costumed fans who all seemed to be having a great time in a very inclusive and welcoming environment.
